Petek - a question

Petek

I was looking through your build site and noticed the following info:

" Team III Halibrand look-alikes (5 lug with spinners) from Finish Line
wheels: front: 15" x 8", 4.5" back space
rear: 15" x 10", 6" back space
both: 5 lug, 4.5" spacing, 1/2" holes
tires: front P255-60S15
rear P295-50S15
BF Goodrich Radial TA "

I am curious about the size of the tires and the back spacing. Do you have any rubbing problems with these sizes?

I would like to get Team III wheels also. Any problems ? Any regrets ?

I live in Canada and the BF Goodrich TA tires are impossible to find in the sizes you have in 15" wheels. I think they can be had in 17 inches from the overseas tires, but I am not fond of the look of 17" wheels.

Paul,

The only thing I would change is the backspacing of the rear tires. I ended up using a spacer of nearly 1/4" width to space the rear tires out enough so that they wouldn't rub on the mounting bolts for the door latch weldment.

The Team III wheels are holding up fine, no problems so far!

Thanks for the reply. Does that mean that you would order a 5 3/4" backset or 6 1/4" backset if you could do it all over. Sorry, but this backset stuff I have never really got straight in my mind. I am working on it and trying to learn as much as I can. I have found since '92 ( when I bought the kit) that it has been a learning experience from then till now. I wish I knew then what I know now. It would have saved me some money. But, then again I guess that could be said for everything in life.

Paul,

Surf on over to Team III's site: http://www.team3wheels.com/ac/offset.html

With the spacers the result would be the 5 3/4" back spacing.

What you should probably do is measure your car to make sure.

best of luck,
petek
