Yup yup you got it in right. I wonder, if it was upside down would you have 5 speeds backwards and only one forward? Maybe the place where they cut the firewall from the body isn't right. Mine sort of looked like the cut was the same. Is it possible to get a firewall from one kit and a body from another? You'd have to ask Don. Also I had to make a plate to bolt my Ididit column to the cowl bar. The threaded rod I used was sticking up about 1/4 inch too high. Once I saw where it was hitting I lowered the rod and the body fell right into place.Do you have the dash bolted in? Body
goes on, then dash gets bolted in. |
Art,
My firewall was nailed on when I got the frame. The column and dash are not installed so no clearance issues with those items. The body is tight against the cowl bar as well as the front frame sections. No contact and way too much clearance at the outriggers and the cross member under the package self. Hoping to get some clues by looking at another almost-completed car at Don's shop tomorrow. Dwain |
TC, I don't understand "nailed on" My firewall was sitting on th frame and the cowl bar was loosely bolted to the frame. I took the
firewall and cowl bar off to install engine and trans and to run wires and lines. Is the cowl bar bolted in the correct spot? |
Art,
...My feeble attempt to be cute. It was actually bolted on quite securely. Dwain |
