What's it worth?

I'm thinking about selling my Cobra to fund a GT-40 build. Right now the market seems pretty well saturated with Cobras so I haven't the foggiest idea what my car is worth.

Specs are at: http://www.birch.net/~petek/cobra/specs.htm

Short version of the specs: Ford 385 hp 351 W, Holley ProJection, 9" diff, rear coil-overs, disc brakes all around, ceramic coated headers and side pipes, pre-luber oil system, oil cooler, 6300 miles (or so).

Any ideas of what it is currently worth?

Pete, I don't look at the market for cobras, but I have noticed that cobras in the $40k or more, do not appear to be selling.

There is s guy on the site that is trying to sell his Lone Star with what sounds like a sweet engine for $35,000 and it has been posted for a while.

Strange as this sounds, you might want to try selling it locally at $45,000 and see what you get.

Wish I could help you more with this.

Pete,

You have a very nice car and I'd think you should be able to get in the $40,000 to $45,000 range for it. I just hope you don't have to wait as long as Jerry has for a car to drive if you sell it.

Had your A/C boys out today. I'ma sweating my a$$ off.

Hi Pete,
I was going through Kitcar.com:
3 Kirkhams- 82K, 97K, 94K
17 Superformance- 38K thru 64K
1 Shelby CSX-143K
And many others starting in the low 20's.
Do you think the "aluminum ones" are pushing the glass ones down?
I kinda think people have finished their cars and want to move on to another build.... GT40's and Daytona's. Plus the registration and insurance problems are getting to people.
I sold mine last year and was going to get a Pantera, just because I wanted something different. Ended up buying a 29 Woodie, the 1988 NSRA Street Rod Giveaway car I found while in San Pedro to buy a Pantera(?). Had this a year, did Woodies on the Warf, Goodguys. Now I want to sell it and build a newer year Woodie. If I had the big bucks I'd go after a Kirkham or a GT40.

Thanks everyone.

I'm not in a rush to sell the car so I can wait for an interested buyer -- and besides, it's still a great car to drive to work!

Bernie, it's suppose to be 102 degrees + high humidity this weekend. Good thing you got your A/C fixed!

Robert, I think there is just a great number of Cobras available in the market (with a good number of "budget" Cobras asking "premium" prices).
