Faster Steering - Options?
I have the standard manual rack in the car. I have found that the steering to to slow for autocross events.
1) Is there a faster manual rack that will bolt into a Classic Roadsters Cobra? If so, what is the steering effort like. I find the current setup to be OK but not great when turning aound in my driveway, etc, and very acceptable when on the road. 2) If no faster manual rack - then what are my options for a power steering setup with faster rack? 3) Has anyone tried one of those in-line "Steering Quikener" units? Looks like some fab work would be needed to mount on eof those. Mike Taylor |
Try an early Mustang ll power steering unit. 3.5 turns lock to lock and with a Heidt's adjustable relief valve on it you can dial the steering force to exactly what you want. I just finished installing this on mine and what a difference!!!!!!! Took most of one day to do the complete job. Email if you need specs or photos...
