Trial fit body

Put body on for first time. have a few problems. Wheel well siting on top of shock and touching header, tunnel hangs on emergency brake, hood scoop about 1/2" above carb. What to do just cut out wheel well and tunnel or what? Oh and can you add 2 1/2" to hood scoop? Any suggestions?

Thanks
Robert

Robert, I pulled and replaced my body 7-8 times before I was satisfied. Part of building it yourself!. Measure and fix.......measure and fix, as many times as it takes.

Suggestion,
Be sure to put either 1/8 thick shims of some sort on the frame where the gaskets go to get the correct height and spacing between the frame and the body (I am probably too picky on this). Check a few areas, such as (if you plan on using bumpers) can you get in there to install the nuts (it was dam hard for me). If you plan on using quick jacks or something similar, weld the nut to the inside of the brackets so you do not need to get your hands in there later. Once you get the body setting exactly where you want it snug it up and pin it. That way it goes back exactly where it was when you install it again after paint. Also, when setting up your hood hinge, make sure to put the allen screws on the collars where you can get to them with the hood closed (I.E. thru the nose opening). You will need this to fine adjust after installing the hood. If I were to do this again I would use some kind of hood hinge that would eliminate the hood hinge being mounted to the radiator surround. The hood (when bolted to the radiator surround) moves independantly from the body. Not much, but it does.

Just a few little things that I came across.

Terry
