Wheel & Tire Question

I currently have 255/60R15 tires and 8.5" wheels with a 4.5" backspace.

I want to change to 17" wheels for a sportier look and better handling. For the front I am looking at a 17x8.5" wheel with 4.25" backspace. For the rear, 17x10.5" with 5" backspace.

I am looking at 245/45R17 tires for the front and 295/40R17 tires for the rear. I have measured the inner clearances and there does not seem to be a problem with this wheel/tire combination.

Does anybody have any comments or suggestions. This appears to be a little a wider wheel than most folks are putting in the rear.

Depending on the tire width you might need to modify the door striker support for the tire to clear. DV could inform you better on this.
