Swapping a cam in a CR...

Here is a question of curiosity for CR folk... Have you ever swapped your cam? Does the radiator need to come out???? God I hope not.... :(

O.F.M.,
Unless you have a V-2 in that Cobra the radiator has to come out.
Sorry..........but no big deal, take it out the bottom!.

Fella,
It's not that hard-ten minutes and the radiator is out.

Ahh, the venerable ol' V-2. Getting one under the hood scoop is the trick.

Do you have some magic trick up your sleeve?? the last time I did that i had to pull the hood and hood hinge...

O.F.M.,
Assuming your radiator is "book" mounted, go through the nose/scoop first. 1/2" or 7/16's socket and a short exstension should get you to the bolts holding on the upper radiator brackets. Remove the one bolt on each bracket and remove the brackets. Then go under the nose and lift the radiator up to clear the lower brackets and slide out from under neath- ten minutes......after you drain the radiator. Shouldn't have to mess with the hood or the hood hinge?

I know working on a car because you have to can be frustrating. It's all in the attitude and it becomes much less frustrating and darn relaxing. I turn on the stereo in the garage, plug in all my lights, and take my time. I don't have to finish in time to drive it to work. What the hekk, I'm working on my Cobra...It doesn't get much better than that. OFM-take a deep breath, tools are toys to be played with on the ultimate toy. Good Luck.
