Front Upper Control Arms

I am looking at changing the original donor front upper control arms in my CRII. The manual says Mustang II from 74 to 78. Can anyone give me a suggestion on which ones to buy for direct fit? I've read several threads and they are all over the map with very good detail but most talk about replacing everything!

Any Suggestion Welcome,
ScottS

Heidts has a stamped steel upper a arm that is very strong and will bolt in no problem and the price is affordable compared to others .The part number is heidts 101-e i used them on my car.

Scott,
Totally agreement Heidts is great but another choice is a custom Cobra builder out of N. Carolina, Tommy Beroth. He has been making the custom arms for over 20 years and is a major CR builder among others. I think he is on the net under "Big Dog Garage, or just do a search on Bethania Garage or Tommy Beroth. If you do, tell him I sad howdy!

most are replacing everything because they were from a donor car, 1978 is a long time to expect bushings to still be good. so if your replacing the upper because the upper shaft bushings and bj are toast then the lower arm will be suffering from the same fate. i put the heidt's tubular arms on mine. i opted to change the lower to their arm that accepts coil over shocks. with that i upgraded the small brakes to 11" and wilwood calipers. it made a huge difference in the car. the stamped steel ones are ok but will still flex under load, the tubular type is stronger and lighter, you can mix them with what you have and replace the others as you go. but i would do the same to both sides with whatever choice you make
