Would anyone know the test procedures for a stewart warner electric tach?

Mine worked great for awile, now just does odd movements. 12 v input and ground are correct, and continuity to dist.from pulse terminal correct.

What is the input signal? ac dc voltages?

Thanks
Wally

I would contact the tech support at Stewart Warner. They helped me with an oil pressure gauge. 915-593-1965 xt 154

Good luck,
John
