Cincinnati Cobra Club

Hi gang, I am testing the waters to see the interest level of Cincinnati Cobra owners to start a local Cobra Club. It would be open to all makes and models of Cobras. There are clubs in Louisville and Columbus that look like they have a great time. I thought we should join in on the fun.

It would be up to the folks involved to set the direction of the club. I had been thinking about possible monthly snake and eggs, a few group activities during warm months such as running at one of the Cincinnati area SCCA events, road rally, etc.

A monthly meeting could be held at a central location. The local Backdraft dealer had mentioned the possiblity of meeting at his facility.

It all depends on the interest level on what we could do.

If interested, shoot me a PM or I have set up an email address for people interested in the club to contact me. It is: cincycobra@yahoo.com.

Hopefully someone with some computer savy will be interested and can work on a simple web site.

Feel free to pass the info on to anyone who you know who has a cobra, or an interest in cobras.

Thank you,

Howard

Howard,

I've tried many times at this. Good luck. I'll be the first to sign up.

Thanks to those of you have responded. I hope that I have contacted everyone.

I am currently working on a email list for folks who have responded on this site and the Factory Five site. I also picked up a few email addresses this summer at shows.

I would like to get everones email address so I can send out 1 email to everyone, instead of trying to locate everyone on the different sites. This way I can easily contact everyone as things progress.

I have an email account just for the Cincinnati Cobra Club. It is cincycobra@yahoo.com. Please send me an email with your contact info. and what part of town you live in. Currently I am trying ot get input on what part of town would be the most central for all to meet.

If you know anyone else that would be interested, please pass on the information.

I hope to hear from you.

Howard

Update

I wanted to give everyone an update on where we are with attempting to start a Cincinnati Cobra Club.

I have email addresses for several people in the Cincinnati area and also the Dayton area. From the emaills I have received, there does seem to be an interest.

I have been speaking with Bill Dyer, and others, from the Columbus, OH based Ohio Cobra Club. They are interested in helping us get started, and have the names of additional people from Cincinnati and Dayton interested in a club. Bill has offered to come down to talk to us and lend a hand in getting started. With the large number of Dayton folks that Bill and I have been in contact with, there may actually be enough people to start seperate Cincinnati and Dayton clubs if there is interest.

Bill is going to get me the email addresses of the folks he has, and I will then email everyone on our list to try to schedule a meeting. The Ohio Cobra Club will be in Cincinnati selling raffle tickets at the new car show February 25th thru 28th. We are looking at the possiblitiy of having the meeting one of these days.

If interested, they are looking for volunteers to man the raffle booth at the Cincinnati show. Please let me know if you have an interest, and I will get you in touch with Bill.

If you are interested in starting a club, but haven't contacted me yet, please send an email and let me know what part of town you live in. Please send it to cincycobra@yahoo.com . Pass on the information to anyone else you know that may have an interest.

Thanks,

Howard

Currently we have 16 people on our email list, and are attempting to schedule our first meeting in March.

If you are interested, or you know someone in the Cincinnati area who may be interested, please send me an email at cincycobra@yahoo.com and I will get you added to our email list.

Thanks,

March 20th Meeting

Meeting Update!

The first meeting of the Cincinnati Cobra Club will be at 12:30 PM at Max and Erma's in the Rookwood Commons. Following is the address and telephone number.

2631 Edmondson Road
Cincinnati, Ohio 45209
513-631-7888

I have spoken with the manager and he is going to reserve a private room for us in the front.

If you are planning on attending, and have not previously let me know, please send me an email at cincycobra@yahoo.com so I can have a tentative count for the restaurant. If you know anyone else interested, bring them along. Ownership of a Cobra isn't necessary, just an interest.

Bring your ideas of what you want the club to be, and things you would like to do this summer. Suggestions so far have been to attend a car show as a group, attend a local SCCA event, an afternoon cruise down some back roads, meet up with the Columbus Cobra Club and meet up with the Louisville Cobra Club. A clever club name would be good also.

I will send a reminder out the week before. If it's warm bring your car.

Just FYI I don't know about you, but I had my Cobra out twice today!

I look forward to seeing you on March 20th.

Howard Law
