Finally - BDR w/ Roush 511IRFE
Its been a while, but the Cobra is finally on the road and working correctly. It's a BDR with the Roush 511IRFE, T56 and plenty of upgrades. It's a beast. I want to thank Jay over at Vintage Motorsports for going above and beyond to get it working. Thanks man.
Even though its been cold, I have put 200 miles on it. I am trying to get those first 500 break in miles before the spring. If anyone is in the Charlottesville, VA area, drop me a line. Dan http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...d=2697&thumb=1 |
Hi and Wow
Nice cobra, I also live in Charlottesville VA. |
Dan, outstanding! Now put a bunch of pics in your gallery so we can all ogle them! I'm still working on my BDR FE so I'd like to see how Brian did yours as well.

Congratulations Dan, thats one good looking car.
Enjoy and be safe. Peter |
Beautiful car. Hopefully the '"challenges" with the 511 are sorted out with yours and you will have better luck. What was the serial number on the motor? i am curious as to how many they are up to now.

Well, sorry to bust the bubble here, Not the first BDR with the 511IRFE without any trouble. I'm sure that Vintage did an impressive job, though. Here is a shot of BDR 603 Aug 2008.

Dan,
Glad to hear it is running as it should. Keep me posted. |
Ron, the engine's serial is 029.
Jay finished it May of last year. Most of the time since I first had issues, it was sitting in a local shop waiting for parts or expertise. Eventually I got tired of waiting and Jay picked it up and fixed it. |
Will do Jay. 270 miles and doing fine.
Thanks |
The local shops did nothing but prolong the agony. Glad we could pick her up and make it right. It took some effort to get the "key" but it was all good after.
|
Enjoy!! When she is running well there is no other feeling than 600 horses under the hood and a heavy right foot!
