need some info since im new

Hi,

Always loved the cobras and wanted to look at the replicas. Saw one on the local wantad that is a 66 replica. Not sure if the price is right, its got a 454 big block Chevy eng, 4spd, Corvette susp, needs TLC. the price is at 15k firm. From his ad it looks pretty nice. Still need to email him and get more pics and specs but would this be a good buy if its in alright shape? What is there to look for/ask him? Again, I'm new to the Cobra so if you can help me or point me to links that would be great! Thank you!

Welcome to our world!
What brand is the car?
The Chevy part really bothers me but it isn't my car, so that's up to you.
15K isn't a bad price but lots of variables to consider like brakes, frame, trans, rear end etc.

He didn't state the brand. Any to look for or not?
I'm a bit of a chevy guy so I like the Chevy motor. (Don't hate, haha)
I got to find out what it needs, he just said TLC.

Thanks for the fast reply too.

Body doesn't look to bad. Sits a little high but that may be just the surface it's on. The front wheel doesn't appear to fit in the fender. A little too wide for the body, wheel offset, body mounting?
Every brand has it's strong/weak points. I don't know of any I would say "do not buy".
I would say don't be in hurry to buy the first one you look at though. There's lots of them for sale and in all different price ranges. You got to decide what's important to you and go from there.
If you have the chance to take a few pics, post them so we can see a little more.

Just a word of caution, if it seems too good to be true, it is. Find someone in your area to take along for the ride that knows what they are looking at.
