Yet another one...

Hi Guys,

here is Pete from Allen Texas.

The model Cobra is on my desk for some for some time. Finally I got some time (besides other projects) to take the Cobra on.

I will fabricate the frame and most metal parts. I'm still looking for a supplier of the body. It looks like this forum is pretty informative.

First, welcome to Club Cobra.

Second, do you plan on building a Fiberglass or Aluminum replica? Slabside, FIA, or 427SC style? Once we know some of the basics, we can assist you in finding the materials to make your project happen.

Welcome, Pete.

Just as a suggestion on the body, give Mr_Bruce a call. He's in Pittsburgh, but works with folks all over the country. He can do any flavor of body (fiberglass) you want. Last time I checked, I also thought he had a spare FFR MkIV body lying around left over from a recent project. He's a great guy and can be reached at 412.466.1312.

See page 2 of the link below for some pics of his work...(you also can search the forum here)

Bill,
Fiberglass is my choice for the body - 427SC.

Allen,
thanks I will look into that.

Other than that I did not make any decisions yet. Final body style - like scoop, roll bar(s) and the usual.

First and foremost I collect info on the chassis. As far I can tell, there is nobody out there who sells plans for a frame. The only concrete dimension which is common available is the 90 inch wheelbase.

The second challenge is, which donor? Power and Parts are the main words here. I like to have a good power, on the other hand I like to use as much as possible parts from the donor.

thanks guys!

Just talked to Mr_Bruce on the phone, yes he is a nice guy let's see what happens--- thanks again Allen
