Newbie in Eastern Pa.
I attended the Import & Kit Nationals in Carlisle Pa. this year and after months of searching, ordered a Shell Valley Classic Wheels Cobra replica. I am so happy and anxious to drive my very own Cobra! Delivery is hopefully in mid-July. My wife and I have made arrangements to attend this years London Ohio event.
My question to throw out to all of you is this: has anyone opted out of the black leather dashboard and used a wooden dash (to match the steering wheel and shifter knob?) I think it would look hot but cannot find photos or suppliers for such and item. Anyone? |
Welcome to the party
GoMangoMan If you are looking to see some cobras there is a get togeather next Sat. June 4 This is at Washingstons crossing. The park is on the Pa side and you can see us from the road. Nice bunch of guys and cars to look at. Carlisle show was nice last week. Feel free to stop by and say hi. It starts about 10:00 am and ends around 1:00, they cruise and have dinner after a drive. Hope to see you. Rick L.

I thought it would be cool to have a nice wood trimmed dash rather than the black vinyl. But when you see some of the dashboards people have tried :eek::eek:! The more custom Cobra's seem to have them and they just don't come across quite so appealing to me. No question, your choice of the dash is about your taste and what looks good to you. Check some out before you decide. Shell Valley is a great choice!

Rick, thanks for the invite! I will be in out of town for the weekend but keep me posted as I would love to see some local Cobras!
Ward, thanks for the info. Do you have any photos to see wood dashboards? The black is classic for sure, just possibly looking for something different. |

Really has to be done well to look good and not "cheesy" or "plywood looking". I believe it is a burrel walnut that has a nice look. Somethimes simpler is better - I prefer the tradional dash myself - classic English roadster. But that's why they are custom cars.
