Hello again, new car, new thread!
Hi, again. I'm still Peter from Belgium. :D
I created previously a topic with a white cobra, but finally we decided to stop, because she was a real nightmare... We haven't drove her yet, and there were many problems, so we said STOP! Then we looked for other Cobra's, and finally we bought one today. :D It's a Pilgrim Sumo, RHD, V8 3,5-L Rover w/ stroker kit to 4,6-L. She black, with white stripes, she looks soooooooooo sweeeeeet! :3DSMILE: Here are the pics, these are not mine, because we have been today to the Netherland to tell the man "we want her", and she was really really dirty. http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/cob10.jpg http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/copy2ofdsc00985.jpg http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/copy2ofdsc00987.jpg http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/copy2ofdsc00991.jpg I have some questions about that car, here is a copy/past of the description of the modifications, but my English isn't really good, and I don't really understand everything. Someone could explain me in simple words what that means? -Turner Gas Flowed heads -Fully rose jointed and adjustable 5 link rear axle -Custom Pedal box with un-servo’d brakes -Dropped floor pan thank you! :-) |

Hopefully this will be of some help: Gas flowed heads - cylinder heads that have been machined and checked for optimum breathing. Fully rose jointed and adjustable 5-link rear axle - Here is a photo of a "rose joint" They allow the suspension links to be increased/decreased in length and allow the links to be located in a non-compliant, yet freely-rotating manner. http://www.edsmotorsport.co.uk/ekmps...0[ekm].jpg Custom Pedal Box with un-servo'd brakes - these brakes do not have vacuum assist and are manual. Dropped Floor Pan - this a lowered section of the floor pan allowing for additional room in the area of your feet as shown here: dropped floor pans | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Hope this helps! - Allen. |
Yes it does, thanks a lot!
With the brakes, it means there is no ABS, right? |

I'm pretty sure you could engineer an ABS system with manual brakes, but I doubt it has been done. I would not bet my house on it, though. :)

Thanks a lot!
I'm in contact with the previous owner of the car, the guy who built this car. He told me he put a switch in the car, to block the braking system to the front wheels only, to make burns. :D |

Non, ça veut dire freins non assistés (pas de servo-frein, c'est à dire pas de système d'assistance donnant une puissance de freinage additionnelle, fonctionnant avec la dépression fournie par l'admission), rien à voir avec un ABS. "No, as said previously, it means the breakes are not assisted (no additionnal power given by the vacuum, taken from the intake), nothing to do with ABS A+ Bob |
Merci! :-)
So I mailed to previous owner of the car, the guy who built it. He explained me EVERYTHING about the car! :o I know now that there is a little switch under the wheelsteering that allows to block the only front wheels (by pressing on the brake pedal), to make some nice burns. :D this car is going to make my dad and me reaaaaaaaaaaaallly happy. |
Congratulations. Looks like a beauty. Is Belgium good on registering kit cars?
You should plan a trip for next summer through the alpine countries. There is nothing like driving a open cockpit cobra on twisty mountain roads with awesome scenery. |
