Newbe!!!!!!!!!!!
Like all of you I have dreamed of owning a Cobra all my life. I am looking at several kits and am really interested in the Lone Star Classics kits. I'm 6'4" and the extra 4 inch length plus the narrow transmission tunnel appeals to me. The problem is, beyond tinkering with my car in high school, I've never done much work on cars. My one asset is that I read and follow instructions very well. Can someone tell me if this is just a pipe dream or is it really do-able. If the answer to that is yes, What do you think about Lone Star? Thanks up front for any advice.

Welcome to the madness! Yes it is doable even with the Lone Star. I do have to ad though that at your height and level of mech skill you might be better with a Backdraft. Good size cockpit and less mechanical stuff to do. Of course LS may build you a roller as well and I'm a little jaded, I love my BDR............
Steve PS Don't know where you live, but if you can get to the London Cobra Show next month I HIGHLY suggest you do it before you buy anything. Can't beat the window shopping and one on one user reviews at this event. That's how I decided on what I wanted. |

Lone Stars in Marietta, GA area
I was just in the Atlanta area and my nephew knew of a Cobra that was just built so we stopped by to take a look. It is a Lone Star and is blue with carbon fiber stripes and a 427 Windsor. It is for sale for $52k. It is at a body shop that builds a lot of custom cars and they have a second Lone Star kit ready to start. I believe they're looking for a customer first to pick options, color, etc. before they build it. Maybe they would take it as far as you want and let you finish it from there. Anyway, worth a look if Marietta isn't too far. PM me if you're interested and I'll track down a phone number.
