SO are you setting it up for drifting?

Sideways 09-27-2013 06:11 PM

While all the components are in place for drifting, Cobras just don't drift very well especially if you have a iron big block. I have a 351 stroker putting out 525 hp on a 2,400 lb car so even with the 50/50 weight ratio that still would be a challenge. Bottom line is that I just want this beast to go straight when the hammer goes down...**)

Going straight in a Cobra is controlled by the right foot, nothing else. A perfectly balanced Cobra can get sideways anytime the right foot thinks it is a hammer...

After getting the Cobra out of the shop today, I lowered the hammer and it goes straight as an arrow. Thanks to Joe Silva @ Custom Alignment who did a great job as usual. B-4 I took it in, I installed the bump steer correction ball joints from Cobra Valley and Joe did the rest. The list of adjustments included road force balancing, corner weighting, alignment and all new sway bar bushings.

Joe is great! My SPF is there as I type. He was able to identify the root cause of a problem that I've been chasing for quite some time.

Wayne, welcome to the BACC. Check the BACC forum for south bay breakfast gatherings and baccevents.com for regional activities. Breakfast is also available every Sat in San Ramon - see baccevents.com for more info.

Thanks for the welcome Randy. The breakfast sounds great but we all need to get together and buzz all the Lambo's and Ferraris at Santana Row some Saturday morning!:3DSMILE:
