Being a long time Chevy Camaro owner - 68 RS Convertible # match for the past 17 years, I happened upon a Unique motorsports 427, built in 1990 and powered by a 1970 Boss 302. Don't know a lot about the car or Fords for that matter, the current owner who's Dad passed away a couple months back was willed the vehicle and didn't know a lot about it when I got it from him.
I contacted unique to try to get more info and was told that a basic kit was originally purchased from them by a guy named Bill Keller from Dayton Ohio who purchased several kits from them to build and sell. He unfortunately passed away about 14 years ago. The 302 was not running so I will be pulling it for a rebuild. Haven't had a chance to get underneath to see which tranny yet. Just got the car two days ago. I will be frequenting this forum for advice and help as I get this vehicle road worthy. The body is in excellent shape, the rest of it needs a little tlc. I retire in about 23 days from a 30 year stint in uniform with the U.S. Coast Guard so this will be a good project to keep me busy for awhile. |
Welcome Mike. You'll find a lot of good info and even more heart felt opinions here. Note that there is a Unique Motor Cars social group here for other owners. And keep an eye out for the annual Unique Motor Cars reunion held each spring. ... Good luck with your project.
