I'm either getting 295/50-15 & 235/60-15 STs or 26x10-15 & 26x12-15 S/Rs. At this point I expect the Cobra to be on the road a majority of the time, with me starting to dabble with the track in the future. If anyone has strong opinions, I'd be interested! I appreciate all of the input I have received thus far.
As an aside, I went to Discount Tire in Rancho San Diego yesterday to check availability of Mickey Thompsons. They were pretty clueless about MTs ("are you putting them on an ATV?") and recommended I buy Goodyears or Coopers instead. I'll try another vender....

Here's a thread from 2014 that covered the M/T tires and how some compared them to BFGs, Coopers and Dunlop Qualifiers. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/tire...-thompson.html

Thanks CycleGuy. I had read that thread before. Based on member comments, it seems as there is no one clear superior tire between the Mickey Tompson STs and SRs. There are members that like one or the other. I think I will be buying STs and find out for myself. Thanks for the post!

Joey, you may be interested in the speed rating on the M/Ts...the RSs have a higher speed rating than the STs if you plan on tracking the car.

I buy my tires from Tire Rack, Jegs or Summit and have a local shop to mount and road force balance them.

Well, I went to Discount Tire in Pacific Beach. A good crew there. They had was a set of a MT/SR tires in California, the STs were in Ohio. I saw that as a sign and ordered the MT/SRs. For those interested, the 26x12-15 were $220 each (before tax, shipping ($10 each) and all that BS), the 26x8-15 were $199.
Thanks all for the input!

My Arntz has 265's on the front and 295's on the rear. No rubbing at all.
