newbie here

Hey all,
I am new to the forum, and am about to pull the trigger on my dream car. I currently have a turbocharged mustang i am trying to sell to help fund this project. I was looking for some info and feedback from people on if i should build my own kit or buy one already dome from an individual I have looked at factory five and shellvalley on the kits. I would love to put a 427 in it but more reallistically going to have the 347. I look forward to everyones input.

Welcome to the forum.

Depends on you budget and timeline.

Personally I bought one already done and saved a lot of money, even with having to fix and finish some items it still ended up much cheaper than building one and I didn't have to spend all the required time getting things together. Only down side is I was limited on the Color of things but I can live with Red.

Welcome to the forum. If you search for the Cobra with the options you are looking for
such as independent rear or live rear, engine & trans of your choice already done, you will
save a lot of time & money. Then you can make the changes you want to suit you. Good
luck.

Ditto on that. You can start with the classifieds on this site ( PhotoPost Classifieds - Cobra/Daytona/GT40's for Sale (private party sales only) - Powered by PhotoPost Classifieds ) as well as Cobra Country ( 427 Cobra Country--Ford AC Cobra replica manufacturers SUPER-SITE ) and many other sites.

It seems that one of the fundamental laws of custom built cars is that they are almost always sold for less than what it cost to build them. So unless the joy and satisfaction of building one is a large part of the appeal, do what the others before me have suggested.
