New owner in Ohio
I always loved the history, the lines and rawness of the cobra since I was a kid and finally bought one last year. It took me a couple years of looking but last fall I finally found the right one, a 2003 superformance with a very healthy 351w. Its in the neighborhood of 450+hp, 5spd tremec, ultra clean...I think the previous owner might have been almost as anal as I am.
Last fall, I got about 500 miles on it before I had to put it away for the winter. This weather is insane...it was 61deg here in Ohio yesterday so I had it out for over an hour with my kids. Man that felt great after a few months of looking at it just sitting there in the garage. The new cobra shares the garage with my other toy. Its my autocross/track day car that I have been building for way too long. All that is left is some wiring at this point. Its a '91 Civic hatch and I swapped an '01 Integra Type R motor/trans in it. Barely 2000lb with about 220hp. Its fully gutted, no dash, race seats, nascar style cage, big brakes, suspension work, race tires. Maybe not many Honda fans here but its another car I always had a thing for...its like a really angry go kart. I must say I have spent many many hours on this forum reading posts and it is such a great resource and awesome group of people. Keep it up! Looking forward to meeting some of the local ohio guys. |
Welcome to the madness. You need to go to the London, Ohio show.

Yeah great show, I went last year. A lot of fun. I will definitely come back and bring my car this year...

Hey Mike,
What area of Ohio you in? There are lots of us in North Cols that take rides up north from time to time. Phil |
Hi Phil,
I'm in Powell. Maybe I can join up with you guys this summer. Do you have an email list for the ride group? Thanks |
London used to be the "get-to-gether", but it has its signs of age.

Mike,
Welcome to the site and that sounds like a very nice Cobra that you have. The weather is just weird everywhere. I live in Northern California and we have had nothing but rain, wind, snow, and cold for the past three months. I started my cars in the garage for a few minutes last month, but that is not good as it takes days for the exhaust fumes to clear out. Ron |
Welcome to the forum. Don't forget to join the Ohio cobra club. Lots of members in the Columbus area, they are having an informal get together the 19th for pizza if I recall correctly off of the Ohio Cobra Club Forum. In Hilliard IIRC. Being in Cincinnati I don't make a lot of the trips just because it is almost 2 hours up there.

Ok thanks Joey. Will check out the Ohio cobra club. For you, distance limits you a bit, for me 5 kids and both of us working full time keeps the wife and I pretty busy. Haha. I hope to get to some events here and there with the car though, especially in the summer. I am definitely planning to come down to the london show
