Hello Folks,
I have always wanted to build a Cobra but never had the resources or space. Recently my sister passed away and left me her three cars, one of which is a 1989 Classic Roadsters Sebring. I read somewhere that it is the same as their their Cobra with just a different body style. I'm here to learn. The car is complete and running but does not handle well. I intent to sort it our and make the Cobra I always wanted to build. I live in the greater Atlanta area.

As a young man I played with sports cars (British and German) but soon learned it was not a game for working class blokes like myself. I turned my attention to motorcycles and I have had good success and building and restoring vintage racing racing bikes, mostly Nortons and Indians. I have won four USCRA Open Class Championships. I am now at a point in life where I can try 4 wheels again.

Any information on the Classic Roadsters will be most appreciated. The car is titled and registered as a 1989 but I have no idea what that is based on. It has a fuel injected 302 HO and a 5-speed gearbox. There is a recent dyno chart showing 326 RWHP. Handling seems a bit twitchy. Pulls to the left under braking and and the rear wants to come around under hard acceleration. Also when accelerating hard out of the hole it it hits a dead spot and dies until I let up on the throttle and then it pulls hard again.

I'm really excited about this project and an opportunity and build a dream car.

First condolences on losing your sister. That is hard for anyone. As for the car, I am not sure if they used the same chassis for the Sebring and the Cobra or not and since Classic Roadsters seems to be out of business for the most part you may need to do some searching around to find everything you will need. But there are several Classic Roadster owners on the site and I am sure that some of them can help you. Just don't get discouraged and you will have a nice Cobra one of these days.
