(PS). I recently completed a replica of my late uncle's 1964 championship modified stock car. The original has long been scrapped (but I do have the roof from the original). We can only do what we can do. You have educated us on the late Paul Cunningham. We feel your loss. Thank you, you can do no more. |
I read there were about 150 ACs imported.
Go with what you got, somewhere there is a guy with a AC body and title lookin for you. If the Carol Conner car is missing I’d start saying I got it Call her publicist ask her what happened to her boyfriends (Elvis maybe) car My car is a supersized Ace on steroids, like Shelbys only bigger |

People seem hung up over the $400 loan? My parents in the same period paid off their home to the owner with hand written checks; back the the bank returned cashed checks with each month's statement. Those cashed checks were the 'receipts'.
Why couldn't the car have been won by Paul Cunningham in a poker game, or as a side bet on a race? Ann might have been Po'd and hung onto the title, but let the actual car go. The death of Cunningham cleared the bet, but what was she to do? Too many people no longer around to explain things and SAIC seemingly allows things like this. As posted much earlier, this is why Jay Leno owns a replica. |
Maybe she sold the car, used whatever cash left over and good credit to finance the anchor home and/or 2 small rental units next to it you can street view. Ann is smart and frugal evidenced by the rental homes.
A check of county records will give a construction date Easy to check out if home or rentals were built soon after July 63 It would lend credence to her selling the car if they were |

Well I am no lawyer, but how do we know that if Kress had shown up that the outcome would have been any different. Perhap Kress got some legal advice that he might lose if he showed up or maybe he got advice that he might prevail if he did not show up or maybe he got advice to sell the car outside of the United States and get money while he still could.
In the future, if anyone considers purchasing either the car in Europe or the Hasselrig/Wesselink car (if it ever gets finished) it seems like registry clues you into what you need to know. The Hasselrig/Wesselink car is being built with a new chassis and body, which to me means it will be a nice replica, but with a CSX serial number attached. The registry says the Hasselrig/Wesselink car will use original numbered trunk and doors and some other parts from the wreck. However John say the doors and trunk are not from CSX 2049. So maybe that can be corrected in a later registry. Although the registry says original numbered trunk and doors, it does not say what serial numbers were on those originally numbered trunk and doors, hmm ... ;) The registry also mentions an air car out there. So if you are out shopping, you should be trying to figure out whether you are buying the replica with the original serial number as allowed by Califorinia or the air car with parts of the original chassis. Regardless of which one you might buy I doubt either of them will command millions of dollars. And who knows, maybe some people would prefer the air car and pay more for that knowing that it has some of the original chassis in it over a replica with the serial number but likely no parts from CSX2049. |

I am really looking forward to receiving my copy of Robert D. Walker's new Chassis by Chassis Cobra Tome, apparently it's a supply-chain issue, books should arrive in New York 12/17 go through customs, shipped to Illinois then distributed mid January.
It is a two book set, over 1000 pages, quite expensive $250. Hope it has new info to bolster current records. Happy Holidays All and Stay safe! |
