New member here
Hello
I am a new member from Hesperia, Ca. I am putting an older kit car together for a friend of mine. I belive it was built in 1979. I will be asking a lot of questions , hope you guys don't mind qusetions. Thank you Wade |

Welcome aboard, looks like you have enough work lined up to keep you busy. There are plenty of people here that are more than willing to give advice. The advice that I will give you now is this, given that it is an older build and it is still relatively apart, replace all bushings with preferably poly bushings. Even though they may look good and the car has not been driven, they will have deteriorated and it is much easier replacing them now than after you have driven it for a few hundred miles.
Have fun and expect to be frustrated a few times. Knowing that you will be makes it easier when it happens. Jim |
As Jim said Welcome ;) Ask away, this club is the best!! I needed these gentlemen over & over while building my Classic Roadster, try finding pieces for a kit that hasn't been made since 1992 ;) They always came though, couldn't have finished the Cobra without them. What kit is that? We have many different forums and may have one just for this kit. Cheers & Good luck, TommyRot.

frame looks to be an ERA, with the "X" member behind the tranny.
Body, Can't tell if its ERA, but that dash doesn't look like it . |

Butler had a Jag rear end. Most certainly not a Stallion, since their frames were much different. That leaves Contemporary and ERA, but the dash looks all wrong. Of course, besides the complete kit, Contemporary did sell a bare bone kit, where the owner could pretty much do as they wanted, or could afford! Cheers, Dennis

The dash is the key here, a picture of the engine compartment showing a wide angle will be the tell. Not a ERA, not a Contemporary, |
