hi ..purchase ??

Fairly new to this forum but I think its great. Full of usefull info. I have a question. A few actually. I am thinking about buying a classic roadster 2. The seller says the car was never titled and he only has the Manufacturers certificate of orgin MCO Is this common? I just want to make sure the car is actually his and I want to protect myself. What problems may I run into and how could I avoid them, All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks everyone.

As long as it has never been titled/registered, the MCO is the paper trail back to the manufacturer that most states require for registration once the car is road worthy.

Depending on where you live, you may also need all the receipts for any or all of the parts purchased for the car- especially the engine, tranny, rear end, etc... to show to the Motor vehicle "referee" to complete your registration paperwork.
Best to post your information, where you live, etc... in your profile so it shows up in your post so you can get your questions answered in the most efficient manner. Each state has their own procedures and degree of difficulty in registration requirements.

Since it is a CRII you can get a lot of information on the CRII forum (here on CC). Look for anything posted by DV (Double Venom). As you are in IL and DV is in MI you two are fairly close. The guys in the Windy City Cobra Club group (here on CC) could probably help you out also with the registration questions.
What year is the kit?

Jeff,

Not to hijack the thread..but just curious, how can you fit 14" front brakes on that car? Asking because I want some too but I can't figure out how to do it with 15" or 17" wheels. Most I have seen is 12" or 13" on either.

Jeff, my guess is your car is priced substantially higher than the CRII.
