New, but old school

I'm really a newbie to the site, but I got an Arnta/Butler Cobra. Any good advice regarding re-registrating my Cobra under the SB 100. I had the car in the non-ops. for the last 2 years, now I'm trying to get it register and running until 2010. I got a appointment with the BAR in Livermore tomorrow. Any suggestion?

Shelb65,

Was the car registered under SB100 before you designated it non-op?

If the car hasn't been registered already under SB-100 you will have to go through the whole process or meet the emission standards for the year of build. Another of this republics moronic rules. Also if you don't mind me asking, why just until 2010?

Hey Ron 61, Thanks for the infor. The car wasn't register under SB100 when I place it under no-ops. I guess I hold my breath

How was the car registered? If it was not registered correctly, there is an amnesty program in CA. You'd have to search "Morgester" for the thread. Did you previously register the car by passing smog according to the block?

The Title on the pink slip listed as Year first Sold 1984, but Year and Model was 00 SPCN, The Bar listed the Engine as a 1964 with only PCV Valve under smog equiment

Got it. I believe that if your car passes smog, you should be able to re-register it. Then, on January 2, 2010 you can go down the to DMV and apply for an SB100. That's my understanding. Good luck.

My Cobra was origonally registered in the early 90's and sat taken apart for 6 years , with a non-op, before I bought it 3 years ago. It is also registered as a 0000SPCN. I went down and registered it with no SB100 or smog. It has been registered in my name for 3 years and I have never had to smog it.
