Italian Racer Girl
Hi everyone! I am a female race car engineer (and car enthusiast) and
have been involved in racing for many years in different series and various types: road courses, oval racing, sprint and endurance, open wheel and sports cars. I've been racing myself in SCCA Formula Continental racing for the last few years and won the SE Division a couple of times. We have a race prep shop in Alpharetta GA (Atlanta) and we do a lot of customer work (fabrication, alignments, engineering, etc) and a customer recently asked us to help with an alignment and setup of a FF5 roadster. Through this I have now discovered Factory Five Racing and am interested in both the street and the racing versions of the cars. We are used to assembling cars as we put a number of South African built Speads sports racers together for SCCA C / D Sports Racing. I would like to get involved in assembling and racing cars for the NASA-FFR Challenge series in the SE - who knows I might get to drive one myself! We have a big racing semi that can take multiple cars if necessary. Looking forward to any advice you can give me!! Rossella www.manfrinato.com |

Ciao e buona sera Principessa!!
Good for you. I hope you get lots of feedback from this site and best wishes in your career in auto racing. I could never get either of my kids interested in my car hobby. Just about my entire family is from either Perugia, Livorno or Castelluzzo in Sicilia. Alguri! |
Thanks for the link!
Grazie della risposta; io sono di Milano!! Ross |
Welcome Rossella!
Very Cool stuff you are doing! |
WoW...:)...
...WaitAminute, are Wimmen allowed on this forum? I thought this site was reserved for grumpy old men with bad knees and carb tuning issues... (Self excluded) Mods! |
:)
Let's trade.. I'll teach you how to drop a quarter in the laundromat dryer, if you tell me how to press a wheel bearing in! ;) |
Welcome to the forum Rossella! Thanks for letting me stop by your shop; I was very impressed with you and your set up there! I am glad to see you get interested in this hobby. You skill set will be a great asset to the community.

Heck of a deal Rosella. Why don't you attend this years Run N Gun and meet some of the Manufacturers and owners. I can think of several that would like to know of your race prep shop in the Atlanta area. http://www.runngun.net The site is in the process of being updated so basically all you will see is last years info but the 2009 dates are there.
By the way welcome to our small world of Cobra owners. Clois Harlan |
Hi Clois,
thanks for your welcome! I looked at the Run N Gun! It sounds like a one of a kind event; I need to read more about it- sounds very interesting and diversified. Is there any similar event a little closer to Atlanta? Hey Kahn, thanks! Hope to see you soon at the shop Rossella |
Hi Rossella,
The person you need to get in touch with is Karen Salvaggio. Her racing credentials and accomplishments are far too long to go into now but she is currently racing in the FFR Challenge Series, as well as enduro, and TT. Karen is also developing “Thunder Valley Racing” which is dedicated to women in all kinds of motorsports, mostly auto racing. You can read all it here: http://www.thundervalleyracing.com/ Karen is a dear friend, event partner, and the one who got me into my Spec Racer. I know she would love to hear from you! You can email her through Thunder Valley Racing or directly at: vetteracers@msn.com Hope this helps and please keep us posted! John ;) |

When a man is bald in the front he's a thinker....... when he's bald in the back he's a lover. But when he's bald from the front to the back he only thinks he's a lover!! For all my bald friends out there.... Its just a joke!!! Welcome aboard Rossella, Michael |
I am sure the Deep South Cobra Club sponsors some events in South Florida as well as Central Florida but I don't know for sure. NASA is a series that is run at most tracks including Road Atlanta and here you go (I am sure this is nothing you don't already know):
Georgia Atlanta Motor Speedway - Hampton - 2.5 mile paved road course Atlanta Motorsports Park - Dawsonville - 2.77 mile paved road course Hutchinson Island Road Course - Savannah - 1.96 mile paved road course Road Atlanta - Gainesville - 2.54 mile paved road course Roebling Road Raceway - Savannah - 2.02 mile paved road course |
Just a quick note on tracks: the Atlanta Motorsports Park ( Dawsonville - 2.77 mile paved road course) is not built yet. I just went to the council meeting this week where it was approved!
The Hutchinson Island track is still there, but needs a lot of work to make it safe; they thought they might have an event there this year, but it fell through as there was too much work and too much money to be spent in barriers, stands, etc. There also is a golf course now where the track is. I'll keep an eye open on events they run at the other tracks you mentioned. |
Ciao Rosella
I dont race my car....and its at the paint shop as we speak, they say it should be ready by next week. My car is all for my own pleasure drive's...no racing:3DSMILE: Giuseppe |
