Which Replica?

Hi!
I'm going to buy a cobra 427(registration before 1979) so as to bring to my country(Greece-Europe) with no taxes.I'm a little bit confused with so many Firms.I like Backdraft,FFR,Dax,Shell Valley,Lonestar..What should i notice and take care of before i decide which one?Engine, suspension, transmission etc
Please help me to take the correct decision.
Thank you,
Christos

Sorry to say, but no matter what a modern day Cobra is titled as, the date of manufacture is what the Greek authorities will be looking at. Since there are very few "kit cobras" dating back to 1979, you are going to have a tough time not paying your fair share of taxes, again no matter which kit you import. I have a client who tried what you are proposing and ended up paying the full tax and import duty, even after three years (yes THREE YEARS) fighting the system in your country.

My advice based on this, buy what you can afford knowing that you will be paying taxes and import duties on them, again, no matter how it is titled in the USA.
