Looking to join the club

Hello Club Cobra:

Been lurking here and FFcobra. Struggling with buying used vs. roller vs. bunch of boxes. Would love to do the build with my kids, but would likely take 4-5 yrs if I look at previous project history. So that leaves me with $35k +/-, looking for a small block street car, IRS rear, FI (I think), reliable, that I can title in Mass. without having to sweat the inspection every year. Will likely read another 500 posts and window shop through the winter, while I figure out the garage situation. Appreciate your thoughts on the used market, future of the used market, best values at this point in time. Thanks again! Chris

There is nothing like instant gratifacation HOWEVER building your own kit with your kids is only helping to educate them in ways only a father can.........i did the father/son thing and the kid can fix anything and service the car just as well as i can if not better.I suggest calling Shell Valley Custom Wheels 1-889-246-0900 and talk to Travis and get an info packet on there kits. talk to your kids about this project to see just how involved they want to be.Contact a local Cobra club and check out there cars and ask questions (and take the kids ) and maybe you can get a ride....Tell Travis i sent you.and welcome to the madness

Go talk to Jay at Vintage (there's a link around here somewhere to his website), He's only one state away from you. It would make for a good day trip and you would get a chance to physically get around the BackDraft and at least get a feel for what they have to offer.

I agree with rustyBob, it is a good experience to have with your children.

:D

Welcome to the madness, whether you buy or build, just make sure you enjoy yourself in the process.
