Sheet Aluminum

A friend and I are considering restoration of a 3000 series Cobra.

We'll need someone who can save some severely damaged panels, and beyond that, make some new replacement panels.

Who would be the go-to guy for that, if you want the very-VERY best?

Frank

Frank,

Seeing where you and your "friend" are located McClusky would be the man to see.

Hello, We used Panel Craft in NH for repairs on CSX2498, Joe is one of the best. He made a new hood for my alum 427 Cobra too, a perfect panel.
good luck, karl

Panel Craft also works on = Originals.
Here is a repair of 4000 series car. http://www.panel-craft.com/sc_cobra.php
He has done both 2000 series comp cars, street cars and an original S/C that I know of.
My vote is Joe if you are on the East (right) Coast. Pick the location that allows you to see the car in progress. West Coast McCluskey would do....

Joe is great to work with and his Customer Service A-1

I have worked with Joe at Panelcraft he is one of the best for sure. I would as suggested stick with someone you can visit and discuss the project with. Geoff Howard in CT, Mike McCluskey in CA, Drew Serb in CA, Alan Baresh in WI. It gets to be a pretty short list of the top notch guys. I just know a few of them and make flatter stuff for them :-)

So Frank, are you going to show us a current picture of the chassis you plan to restore, or are you building an air car around a door hinge that Bob Sbarbaro had left over from CSX 3303 after he sold it to Gordon Gimbel way back when?

Now, Bill, let's not be confrontational. Just because "FIACOBRA" knows no better over on that other site doesn't mean intelligent people should follow suite. You no doubt will recall that Frank'sAlterEgo made it clear that Bob never owned 3303, so it is obviously another car for which they need sheet metal. Let's just call it "not 3303" for now, OK?.
