Venice, Forida

Hi,

I just purchased a FFR roadster and will soon be retiring to Venice, Florida.

Are there any Cobra Clubs in the area?

Thank you,

Howdy Neighbor ! and welcome to the forum.
I'm in Sarasota, and there are a few cobras around the area. The summers are really hot, so I would advise you get a top for your car if you don't already have one.
The "Deep South Cobra Club" covers all the so.east states, and is the only active club that I know of. We have about 4 planned events per year, usually held in northern Fl, southern Georgia, and so,& no. Carolina.
I've been meaning to get a more local group going, just never seem to find the time.

Ted

Matt: The DSCC has a presence on facebook. (they also have a web site, but no one uses it. Join the club for $25/ yr, and access the fb page for news of upcomming events.
Over the years, members have found interesting places to visit/drive to, and these are suggested to the club officers as potential "cruise" sites. the person who found the site will work with the officers to plan an event for the members. They are usually 3 day trips. Members pay their own expenses ( food, hotel, gas etc.

Blue 66: funny you found that post, I had just found my folder of local Cobra guys to contact to gage the interest level of doing something local and more frequently.
I may get it done yet !!
On CC it seems the Arizona guys are always up to something. Florida, not so much.

Took me a while but I finally found this thread. I'm the VP/Treasure of The Deep South Cobra Club and live in Tampa. I have a few West Coast guys that try but never seem to put beer and burger runs together.
This may be a good time to try again.

Hey Mike , just looked at the website and saw you'er set for the NC mountain cruise in Aug. The Tail, 129, Cherahola skyway, and a visit to Jims place !! Sounds great !
As far as local cruises go, the problem is finding good "Cobra" roads (curves & hills, preferably at the same time! Hard to find south of Tampa )

Today i saw about fifteen or so at Nokomis Fl, by the time i got home it was too late to get back there. Anyone know what group that was?

Tom Wells 02-05-2023 05:44 AM

LS,

That was the Deep South Cobra Club. Take a look here: https://www.dscc.us/

or here if you are on Meta: https://www.facebook.com/deepsouthcobraclub/

LS1ac: Read my previous posts. What you saw in Nocomis was a Deep South Cobra Club (DSCC) event.

IMLost 02-05-2023 10:06 AM

Is1ac,
as both Tom Wells and MOTORHEAD (both are Members) above replied, it was a cruise in For the Deep South Cobra Club and the Cape Coral clubs.
We have members throughout Florida, Georgia and the Southeast. We have been an organization since 2001 and scary as it seems to many, I am the current President.
