Does the car have a posi- or trac-loc?

clay fugate 02-26-2002 05:21 AM

i believe its posi-trac, it was built by currie enterprise.
how would i tell the difference?

I believe you can lift the rear-end on stands, then with the car in gear(no parking brake) try turning one wheel backward. If the other wheel turns in the opposite dirction(forward) you don't have a locker. Another way is to put one tire on a slick surface, and the other on a good hard surface, and see if all power is lost to the spinning wheel.

By the way, which frame does this car have? Does the engine have alum. heads and roller cam?

Thanks,

Joe

hey joe,
the frame is the ls427sc frame which has the solid steel floors under the seats. the cheaper street version frame does not have the solid floors. it does not have aluminum heads. it does have roller rockers etc...

i'll have to check the rear when i get home tonight but i'm 99% sure both wheels spin the same direction .
