Who's kit

Hi guys just looked at this kit and very disappointed Its at Lance motors I only went to look at it becuase he said it was an era and only two years old so the first thing I did was go to era's site to find what distinguishes it from others very happy I did so, know way is the kit only two years old the chrome is coming off on both bumpers and roll bar the aluminum dash is paper thin It did have a good strong motor and tranny but in my opinion not safe for road no e-brake no working directionals and get this no I repeat no seat belts!!! Car has square tube frame and fiberglass tub the door hinges interfear with the front body if opened to wide and can"t tell but I don't think they where solidly mounted to the frame work. Also the odometer said 361 he said 400 and title said 398 something funny going on. does anyone know who's kit so I can Avoid It . Here are some pics.

...early warning

Definitely not an ERA.
SB is a tip off :D ...but the interior is all wrong.
I'll check the files later to see if we can I.D. the body

Does that thing look stretched to anyone else?
It looks to me like it has too much space between the doors and the side vents.

bmalone 03-23-2002 08:48 PM

Yeah, that was my first impression--a stretched car, and yes the hole for the sidepipes did not quite look right.

I don't believe there is an ERA out there anywhere (certainly not with 400 miles on it) that can be bought under $25,000.
No way!
I have a friend who is 20 miles away from me who has ERA 004, I doubt he would part with his 25 year old car for $25,000.

mln,

Your education continues! It really is a process. If you remain committed you could easily look at a dozen more. Don't lose hope. This is probably the best time to be looking for one in the last five years.

"...it looks better in pictures..." they always do!

There's a whole list of ad phrases and then what they really mean! The one I've been seeing the most lately, especially in ebay ads: ".......easily fixed" or "easy repair". Now you gotta wonder, if it were so easy, why didn't the seller do it and increase the value?

Another nail, not halibrands as advertised, look like compomotives...not a bad thing, just not as advertised.

Maybe someone can identify by the somewhat flattish nose, apparently no oil cooler opening and the style of hood hinges. Doesn't ring any bells for me though.

which kit

Looks a little stretched and dash reminds me of Lonestar.

Ok...I'll take a guess. It looks like a B&B mfg. car It's similar to a friend of mine that just bought one. Randy

viper-168 03-24-2002 04:13 PM

It is NOT a B&B.

JimsGems 03-24-2002 11:14 PM

I'm sorry guy's, I couldn't view it. Is it in your gallery? Or could someone send me a .jpg of it? jim@jimsgems.com
