More like several pieces of history, after seeing the photos. I hope someone can put it back together.

Seems like a heel of a lot of money for a partial eractor set! Mainly you are paying for the title. Talk about a project!

Excuse me while I go open an artery...

auction ended, car bid to $64,585 and reserve not met so a NO SALE. no one obviously stepped up to the "buy it now" price of $75K, but reserve might have been less than that, ya never know. however, the kids toys adage of "some assembly required" sure applies here !!! as well as the thought of all those kid toy projects I built where all the pieces were not there comes to mind too. I know of a guy that tried to buy 2071, and the reserve WAS the buy it now. $75k seems a little steep, when this car went for $127 last year:

...sure it was cheap, look at those pieces of metal missing from the nose.:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Seriously, Kris...what kind of mutt was that car? Wazzup with the hips and flairs? ...etc.?
( CSX2166???)

Specialk 04-20-2002 10:28 AM

That car has an interesting made up history. At one point a past owner had tried to pass it off as the first 427 Cobra. It has a 427 in it, and the bodywork I guess is supposed to be like 3002? Its a neat looking car, I think. Plus it is an original Cobra chassis (CSX2166), it just doesn't look the same as when it was born! **)

The seller on E-Bay said that $10,000 was PLENTY to *restore* that car??

Homey don't think so, looks like YEARS and at least $25,000 to get that puppy even roadworthy, unless someone is hoarding the parts already. Even the rear bumper needs rechroming. Looks like it was stored outside, or in an unheated shed...???

YOU GUYS ARE ON DRUGS, 75000, 127000, GET A GRIP

Jack Zupan 04-20-2002 01:09 PM

Those pictures looked like the back lot of someones junk yard to me. If someone offered $65K and the owner turned it down, it's a golden opportunity for two fools to meet.
