How did you get the hood hinge attached without using any rivets through the fiberglas hood?

I first bonded it using fiberglass/steel bonding glue. I then put a couple layers of fiberglass over all of the steel used for the hinge under the hood (the bars, and the flat pieces). I then sanded the fiberglass and painted it high temp black.
