OK Guys - some of you have expressed an interest in my Era 'Street' Cobra. Now's your chance. I've lowered the price from $65,000 to $59,950 on the "buy it now option" but the actual reserve is even less than that for those who are willing to "compete" for it on Ebay. Those who want to eliminate the competition immediately can hit the "Buy IT Now" option and pay the full asking price of $59,950 and the car will be yours. Good Luck. Just a little helpful advice....If you going to try and sell a car on Ebay, you best bet is to start the bidding at $100, and let the frenzy of bidders build slowly.......

ERA on Ebay
I have had great success selling cars on Ebay, and I must tell you, whenever you start the bidding over $1,000, people are nervous about jumping in. As long as you have a reserve price, there is no need to start the bidding so high. If you relist it, give it a try. The idea is to get the bidding "frenzy" going. Great car by the way.

starting bids on Ebay & Engine Temp
Hi all:
Just can't see the point in starting the bids at $100 or $1000 on a $60,000 car. What good does it do to generate bids from a bunch of people who can't afford to buy the car? Anyone who is SERIOUS and can AFFORD the car will bid on it at the realistic starting price I've set. I have had numerous emails from folks already interested in the car who have seen it on Ebay. Just because someone may not bid on it there doesn't mean it won't sell "off auction" to someone who contacts me directly. As to the engine temp - this car has a HUGE 5-core griffin aluminum radiator and a HUGE puller fan that's hooked to the thermostat. I have NEVER seen anything abouve 100 degrees C on the Smith's Temp guage - even on the hottest days IN TRAFFIC. |

Isn't 100 C the same as 230 F? If so, isn't that a bit warm?

100 does = 212. But with radiator cap pressure it wouldn't boil, and THATS the key. But I've been up there before at the 100 C level in various cars in traffic or whatever. Heck, 230 or better as far as the goes.

Re: starting bids on Ebay & Engine Temp
The whole idea is to generate interest in the auction. With a low or no bid count, quite a few people will overlook your auction completely. With a high bid count, they are more likely to check yours out, if not out of sheer curiosity. Those of us with more experience selling the big ticket items are offering you sound advice, it is now up to you whether or not to listen to it.
