Beautiful new Cobra....with 351 for $23,000?? Someone explain??

Can someone help explain this to me? How can you buy a brand new cobra with a 351 and all new parts for $23,000?

I spoke to the guy who won the auction and he said it is a Lone Star Chassis and the car is amazing. Everything as described and beautifully built. Fast as heck to he said.

See the link here:

Why do I see Factory Fives for more like $35k and Superformance for more like $45k? I guess I understand the Superformance because everyone raves about the quality, but is Lone Star that much lower quality to be almost half the price???

Thanks for the advice,

Dan

I would not say that Lone Star is any less than any others. This is a perfect example of a distress sale.

Doesn't say whether it is a competition chassis, the added heat shields settle that. I would have bought it just for the parts. Dang...

Maybe the wifey got busy while the hubby was away on a trip?

I'd say he got one hell of a deal! I don't think you could even get an unbuilt kit from Lone Star + engine/trans for $23000.

No doubt about it, it's a buyer market right now. THAT was a great buy. I would have been tempted to buy it myself. But heck, I all ready own two!

Lone Star. The location of the Lemans fuels cap and the shape and size of the roll bar are not consistent with a Lone Star. Additionally, the dash is way different from a Lone Star. Nice looking car and from the looks, a real good buy. Just not a Lone Star.

Those are not Lone star doors either.

Also 4 lug rims and hood pins, whitch manufacture has roll bar brace dead center?

I definitely thought things were a bit strange, but I spoke with the new owner and he is delighted.

Says the car is everything he was looking for and fast as heck.

That was the color I want too! Now where do I find another one??

Is it a 4 wheel drive.. ain't never see one sit so high

Uh, guys, if I'm not mistaken, that's a POS "Street Beast" from the looks of that funky door line and gas cap.

Personally, TT's lucky. That's if he wants a car to keep. It may be a good parts car though. I'd pay more for an FFR because there's more to them. In other words, I think you're lucky that you're still in the market for something nicer. :)

Not a Lone Star but looks like it is worth the money. Heck for that cheap you could have it for a rain car!

My opinion it was a good buy. The market is very soft for toys now and this is an example.
