An AC Shelby for the 00's???

Oct 20 AutoWeek:
" A carbon fiber bodied AC Ace with US supplied power will be the 1st fruit of the recently announced alliance between Carroll Shelby and British nameplate AC.
Rolling chassis of the 2 seaters with steel tube space frames will be shipped to the states, where Shelby's engineers will install an engine and gearbox, mirroring the deal that created the original Cobra. This time around, though, the rolling chassis will be built on the Mediterranean island of Malta, where AC is due to open a satellite factory Nov 15."
And isn't Mr Shelby playing nice with Mr Ford nowadays????
I wonder if a few Ford dealers that miss out on a GT will sign up to sell this new creation...........
Hmmmmm, I suppose we do llive in interesting times, after all!
It just keeps getting harder and harder to decide where to spend the car cash. :3DSMILE:

Ford Marketing 101?

There has been tid bits of information in Motor Trend, Motorweek and other magazines about the deal between Ford & CS. Starting with the celebration of the new Ford GT, maybe some input on the '05 Mustang, and "possibly" a future Ford Cobra. Call it marketing or whatever, and hats off to Ford for actually creating the Ford GT and for putting the train back on the right track.

Last year AC Cars already had several versions of replica Cobras listed on their website including a 302 Carbon fiber car; along with the 427SC. Interesting to see how many of these deals (or discussions) are all coming about around the same time with Ford's 100 years and 40 years of Shelby.
