what year? can you e-mail copy of csx certificate? torre44@adelphia.net thanks
|
Dear torre44
I do not have the "csx certificate" that you are talking about(I did not even know about the existence of such document). Anyway it is a very good idea, maybe with this document I could justify a higher price for this fabulous car(I say fabulous regarding his road holding qualities). The car has been built in 1993 and has been homologate in france for beeing "1961 native" (don't asked me how, but the original owner how was in touch with Caroll Shelby Himself for his transplant association in France succeded in getting the french homologation) I send you a copy of the Story of RAM and Caroll Shelby from Travor Legate' Book: "Cobra The real Thing". Maybe this story is not very well knowed oversea, because Caroll Shelby is directly adressing now the US market. Let me know your feelings about this car and this story. Best Regards Alain TEYSSEDRE |
Alain, I had a RAM when I lived in Aberdeen. It was a factory built car and all I did was supply the engine to Adrian. The deal was if you sent him 427.00 pounds sterling, he would supply you with a letter and wing badges that said "Design approved by Carroll Shelby". The money was donated to the Shelby Heart func. When I sold the car to a guy in Inverness, it didn't make any difference in the price. I wish you well in your sale of a nice car. I really enjoyed mine. I have a Superformance now and like it a lot. Not many RAMS come up for sale. The lucky buyer will certainly get a nice car.

Hello Goober
Nice to hear someone how had the same car. I did not know about the letter, and I have the wing badges that said "Design approved by Carroll Shelby", there is also Caroll Shelby Signature on these badges. Do you know how many RAM has been built ? (before and after the Shelby agreement) I believe most of them should be in england By the way I have a Left Hand drive version. best regards Alain |
