Everett Morrison still making replica Cobras? If not, what part of this car is "new"?
Ernie |
Everett - Morrison Motorcars were never out of business, they were struggling just like everyone else last year. I rate them second best after ERA and Superformance comes 3rd. I have never dealt with with such nice people and their customer service is excellent. If you are in the Tampa area I recommend you visit their facility. On the other hand I used to have an Excalibur cobra black on tan, Its nice but the dimensions are off and the standard mustang V8 engine (225hp) and regular transmission are weak.
I was told they come with A/C but mine didn't.... sold it for $30K with 2k miles. My new Cobra sounds like what a cobra should. Big block FE 406 cid motor with 430hp supplied by Bill Parham of Southern Automotive. Bill is the biggest collector of cobra big blocks. He is also a superformance dealer in Georgia, he supplies most of the industry. Everything on this car is brand new. All I have to say everybody has their own taste and mine has changed to the 289. If your interested feel free to give me a call. |
I will agree with you that the E.M. is one of the best cobra kits made. The company did shut down for most of last year to reorganize and is just about to come out with there new 93" generation 4 kit. The problem might be that they dont seem to have the same resale as ERA or some other kits.

FL427,
Although you're certainly entitled to your opinion, your ratings are a little out of synch with the general consensus of the Cobra replica community. If well-built, E-M can be a nice car, but I think you overstated the case a bit. |
406 FE,,,, interesting motor. Good to hear EM is still around. It does have a good reputation.
Excalibur is also "back in business" (original molds, etc.) but now offered only as a "roller". The thing I liked best about the Excal was it's "user friendly daily driver" thing. I drove that car EVERYWHERE, ALL the time! I doubt that will be the case with my ERA (which is STILL awaiting shipment to Hawaii). At 12 to 1 compression and 600 horse I don't think I'll be making many "gallon of milk" runs to the store! :D You can make a strong case for a replica that CAN be driven daily! Ernie |
Oh poo!
Hey Ernie, didn't they tell you about "thing" that happened. Shipment is going to be delayed a while. Seems once a car in California gets one of those 500 "numbers" ... well, darn it all, the State of California won't let the car leave the state until the year is up. Maybe you could rent the car out over the next year. Can I reserve most of August? :) |
Damn Ernie, what a shame, but I heard it was sometimes 2 years before an SB-100 registered car could be released.
|
Last I heard Turk had the car, I guess the Gasholes are passing it around amongst themselves. :D

Yeah Ernie I think it is due to arrive here in WA sometime in June, I think the "cork sucker and GasHo" get it first, then me and I will arrange shipping oh say about October, give or take:LOL: **) **)

What rear is in that car? I ask b/c the offset on the rear wheels is so positive. No dish.
