Superformance Brock Coupe for Sale-California SB-100
1 Attachment(s)
I have run out of garage space and decided to sell my Superformance Brock Coupe #65. It is properly registered in California under Senate Bill 100 which means no smog or registration hassles. It's Royal Blue with Wimbledon White stripes. It has a Roush 427R (550 HP, 535 ft lbs) and a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed transmission. Dennis Olthoff prepped the car and installed the engine. The car is showroom condition and has 1600 miles. I recently placed some pictures in my gallery. $86,500 Bill (916) 541-8041 or email at raddox@comcast.net

Brock coupe
Hi, beautiful car. How do you like the 427 R / transmission package ? Is it docile in traffic? Oil leaks? Pump gas? I would imagine 1/4 mile times in the 11's ?
|
Hello Goopie,
The car is very streetable and very quick. I haven't run at the strip or track but I suspect the quarter mile would be in the 11s. Premium pump gas (even in California) runs just fine. Bill |

cdc, I'm not familiar with the FFR but the description and pictures of Tony's car look very good. Maybe he's not asking enough.

FFR Coupe - Less than $14,000 kit. Uses 5.0 Mustang donnor car. I won't comment on what a race car engineer told me he thought about FFR chassis... It's easily worth $20K more. That's not counting the fact it's licensed by Shelby and it has a SB100 registration. |
Tony's coupe is absolutely gorgeous - one of the finest coupes I've ever seen. When Tony won the coupe from the DVSF, he took it as an honor to finish it to the highest quality available. Anyone will have a difficult time finding a coupe for sale as the same level of quality.
Additionally, Tony's coupe is personally endorsed by Shelby - yup, Shelby crawled in and signed the dash (see the pics in Tony's gallery). And, his coupe is properly titled in CA as SPCN with SB100 smog exemption. |
I'm not saying there aren't any well done FFR Coupes. If you compare the quality of the kit and the use of donor Mustang parts to a Superformance, I take the Superformance.
The fact that Shelby autographed an FFR does not mean he endorses the FFR. Remember Shelby v. Factory Five Racing? Remember Shelby having the first Brock Coupe impounded by customs? Shelby has offically licensed the SPF Coupe. P.S.: Shelby will sign anything. (For a fee.) At least he didn't find any more "original" Cobras in his Goodyear Racing Tire warehouse! In general, SPFs are worth more than FFRs. Check the for sale ads. http://home.earthlink.net/~stan999/u...ra-saac-27.jpg |
SPF (Coupe or Cobra) prices remain pretty stable because the quaility of the builds remain consistent. You pretty much KNOW what your getting, the only variance being the running gear.
FFR or any other Coupe or Cobra (with some small exceptions) can vary widely in their build quality. Some are fabulous, and BETTER than an SPF. Some are not. A consumer has to KNOW what to look for and be careful when buying, could be good, could be not so good. I think BDR takes the same approach as SPF. Pretty consistent build quality, so it's a more 'sure bet' of getting a 'decent' car. Maybe not the best car out there, but it's a pretty safe bet for the average consumer. The names associated with a build DO add a certain 'value'. In this case, Peter Brock and Shelbys blessing (Coupes are in the registry) are significant. Ed Combs built Tonys FFR Coupe, that 'name' tells me a lot about the 'quality' as well. There both priced about right for what they are! I'm not endorsing ANY of the above mentioned manufacturers, just pointing out the facts. |
