Fraudulant Cobra Listing on Ebay

All,

The Ebay listing for Backdraft Racing #58 under Ebay listing 230036676247 is a fraudulant listing. I personally sold this car about 4 weeks ago to someone in Biloxi MS. The photos and write up are exactly what I used in my add. The car sold for 46K. I doubt that he would relist it for 30K a month later. Hopefully this keeps someone from bidding on the car.

You need to report the listing

Check this seller's product buy and sell record, did a lot of buying, not big ticket items, pays fast, sold low ticket items, delivered fast. Easy way to get a good rep.

Probably a hijacked ebayer's screen name. Happens all the time.

I like that ad. You must pay in cash only, which makes it sound legit, but they need your credit card to be qualified as bidder due to it being a private auction.

That's a good move.

A fraudulant Cobra Listing on Ebay, what is the world coming to? By the way, does anyone out there want to buy some land in Florida?

Seriously, nice catch Craig.

The add has been reported to Ebay. I will also include the info about the other high dollar autos he is probably fraudulantly selling also. Also just noted he took the time to blank out the licence plate.

This ad is different than many phony ebay ads. This is more believable and doesn’t have the normal red flags such as ridiculously low price. It doesn’t have the “call me” don’t go through ebay remark. He wants cash (not really), but it adds to the believability. This is disturbing because it would be easier to be mislead. Also notice the ad still appears many hours after ebay was notified. I’m always looking for a good buy, sold my SPF a couple years ago, but it is harder to trust a long distance or ebay purchase.

Tried finding it again today but no luck...gone with the wind. Hopefully some one didn't get suckered into something and Ebay removed it as sold.

The best lies always contain a significant amount of 'truth'.

Fraudulent eBay Listings

Com'on folks fraudulent listings come up all the time in many areas of eBay. If eBay was a country at 135 million citizens, it would be a good sized one. Show me a country where they catch every single criminal that appears. Especially without help from it's citizens?

Simply go to the bottom of the suspect listing and click on "Report this item" and fill in the blanks.

Once that is done the suspect listings usually disappear in a short while.

eBay sure isn't perfect, but the frequency of fake Cobra listings has definitely declined over recent months.

Regards,
Doug
