I'm Worried About "New York Guy"

The "2015 Unsafe Cars to Drive" based upon latest issue of ShopSmart magazine, which is published by CR.

The info was generated by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety after testing a 40 MPH partial front crash into either another oncoming vehicle or a tree. Rating is POOR, based on condition of crash test dummies.

The reason I'm worried is that NYG could be confused for a "dummie."

Audi A4
Chrysler Town & Country
Dodge Grand Caravan
Fiat 500
Fiat 500L
Ford Escape
Honda Pilot
Hyundai Accent
Hyundai Tucson
Jeep Patriot
Kia Sportage
Lincoln MKS
Mazda CX-9
Mazda 5
Mitsubishi Mirage
Nissan Juke
Nissan Leaf
Nissan Quest
Nissan Versa
Toyota Prius C

(NYG, all in good fun :))

Rodknocker, you don't really think he drives one of those, but then, he does flaunt his NY-er-Ness.

New York guy is an a$$hole. This site was a lot better when he was gone! I wish he would make like a tree and leaf!!!! Everyone of his posts are negative to our Cobra replica hobby!!!!

I think NYG is cool. He doesn't seem to be a Cobra enthusiast, but I think that his contributions to this site have been informed and entertaining. However, that might not be what many others want to see and read here. i.e., someone who has a detached view of what we are so avid about. As for the 'tongue in cheek' put-down about him driving a Nissan Leaf and being in high jeopardy of an injurious collision while driving it, what does that say about our own decisions to driving cars with none of the safety features of a Nissan Leaf?

How would a Cobra rate in such a collision. btw a Fiart 500 would lose, if you hit a small dog.

Nissan Leaf

thanks for looking out! city traffic 'round my way suks and the speed limit is 30mph. my local Nazi patrol AKA NYPD Blue has been cracking down on speedsters. even bicyclists.

my experience with my leaf compares well to hot rod cobra owners. both cars are strictly short mileage cars. useless for state to state travel. get plenty of stares and questions asked. I've had the leaf for 3 years and have driven less than 8K miles. Parked in a cousin's driveway in bklyn most times.

time for a daily driver switch. the Wifey is suddenly into camping and my daughter is old enough now to do some weekend getaways.

a NY rapper friend (not Jay Z) has a 'family' hookup this custom car guy in Fl. going next friday to his shop to 'kick monster tires'.

I'm glad you see it as tongue-in-cheek, which is the way it was meant.

Also, I really enjoy  various posts about how Cobra owners install two roll bars in their Cobras because their significant others desire the same "safety feature" on both sides. Neglecting the fact that nearly all collisions are front, side or rear impacts. Or drive some less-than-virtuous DD 20,000 miles a year. Or occasionally run a red light. Maybe don't wear seat belts. Or maybe don't have a will setup for their family. Or whatever.
