Halibrad wheels
I purchased a set of Cobra II wheels and adapters from Halibrand two years ago for by kit car... a NW Exotics. NW Exotics closed their doors and left me with a partially equipped frame. I've gotten a body from Brian at B & B and am slowly working on the car. I finally got brakes for the rear end and tried to put the wheels on. No go. The adapters won't go on the rear end. The hub on the axle is too wide and/or tall for the hole in the adapter. Actually it is the other way around... the hole in the adapter is too small for the hub on the axle.
Here is my problem... I have been trying to contact Halibrand every day for a week. By 800- number. By direct number. By email. The best I have been able to do is leaving voice-mail, which has not had a reply. Does anyone know if Halibrand is still around? I don't feel like chucking up the adapters into a lathe and taking off the ten- thousandths that it would take to clear the hub. Any suggestions? |
Try contacting Compomotive USA at www.usacomp.com Ask either Norris (Sales) or Allen who runs the manufacturing. Perhaps they can help. This is who I got my wheels from (see "View my Photos" to the left). They guarantee fitament.
