UPDATE!!!
Everyone, Jet-Hot has reimbursed me for the cost of coating and shipping my pipes. I'm still stuck with screwed-up pipes, but at least I have some money to start over with. I asked them to email what they decided on doing, so that their reply could be posted to the forum, but I guess they had no comment. The credit just showed up on my credit card bill with no notification of any kind from Jet-Hot. |

Http://www.creeperscobra.com/airborne Seems quality control is lacking in this industry or at least packing skills. |
Airborne delivered a package to me by tossing it over the fence to our dog rather than setting it by the gate. I called the next day to complain and after several conversations and sending a signed letter they told me I needed to respond within 15 days of when the item shipped. I said I called the NEXT day and they said that was the company policy, that they received the info too late. Our company has had terrible luck receiving anything on time from Airborne and request that people NOT use them when shipping to us if it is time sensitive material.

Creeper,
That is awful. It's clear from your pictures that the damage is pretty bad. I'm sure you feel like I do - that the pictures don't even do justice. Scratches, dings, drips and dents are very evident on shiny cylindrical parts. I wish you luck with the credit card company. I actually had a dispute (as they call it) go in my favor once. It took 2 months to resolve, but in the end I got my money back. You are right. It seems like there is room for a reputable company to clean up in this market. |
For what it's worth, I recently had my headers, valve covers and air cleaner cover coated by Jet-Hot. I have the aluminum "Cobra 460" covers and the oval "Cobra" cover sold by most Cobra suppliers. I had the headers coated in black and they came out fine. The aluminum covers were all done in blue. They came out great. I spoke with Todd numerous times and he was pretty helpful. I'll post some pictures as soon as I can, and dig out my receipt.
ps. After I got the valve covers and air cleaner cover back, I took a belt sander and ground down the fins to the aluminum to give the covers a nice two tone appearance. |
I took my full length headers for my other car to "Headers by Doug" in anaheim CA. He sent them out to get coated with his new headers. Cost $150 They look perfect and all the headers I've got from him before had the same coating and it lasts and lasts.
