Can-AM Cobras

I am surfing for Cobra Kit info.
I am looking for any knowledge of the Can-Am Motorcars Cobra kits.
Quality,
Service,
Prices.
Are they a small quiet company? Does anyone have one of their kits?

TIA.

I have visited the folks at CanAm Motorcars and spent some time with the owner Wolf - this guy knows what he's doing and builds a very nice cobra replica.

They are small and personable located in the country just outside of Vancouver, B.C. Canada. Wolf does all his own assembly, builds the frames and the bodies. He uses quality parts true to the originals.

I know of one CC member who is building a CanAm who goes by the handle of "Whaler" and lives on spectacular Vancouver Island.

Zderf (Fred) here on CC has a Can Am. Really a nice car. Fred is about 6'8" and as the Can Am has a dropped floor he fits like a glove.

CanAmMotorcars Chassis #2

Hello, Just cruising along and found this little dialoge. I own car number 2 finished in 1996. It has a Ford 460 dual quads and toploader with 9 inch rear narrowed. The car is fast and beautiful. I spent the winter rebuilding the chassis and suspension, then rebuilt the trans and continued to round out the car with general TLC. I have won three local car shows with the car and my plan is now to sell it. It has been appraised at $50K. Everything is perfect on the car EXCEPT the hand brake does NOT work. It does have road chips because it is driven regularly. This car is very reliable and quite authentic looking. You will see some pix attached to my profile. The car is in Southern Cal and can be delivered by myself if interested. I have not advertised the car because I am involved with showing it but now might be a good time to start the ball rolling.

IF you have any questions or want to see additional pix, let me know.

Hi Eric, we met the other day at Bob's Big Boy. By the way great looking car, if someone's interested. Forgot to ask you about the alum. work in the engine bay. Does the Can-AM car come with it, or did you have it custom made? What's the next project, if there's one?

IntimidatorI 09-27-2003 01:06 AM

Hello Cobra Fever, It was nice talking with you at Bob's the other night. We had the only Cobra there and I was surprised. The aluminum work was part of the package from what I can tell. I did not build the car, it was built be Kim Sherback in Vancouver BC as a dealer car for Wolfe. I bought the car in 2002 and then had to sort it out big time. Now that it is finished and fast, I think it may be time for it to be passed on. No other projects in the near future but that changes daily.... here is a link to a car I have for sale on eBay. Take a look it may blow your mind. It is authentic, real and blindingly fast to drive, almost impossible to drive at the limit - you'll see.

I will be going out to Willow this Sunday with the GT4 car and it will have a FOR SALE sign also. Come take a look.

wish i could go, but have a Miller job that starts shooting Sunday. Unless you could strap me on the rear wing and give me a ride in the gt4. Man you got to bring that thing to BBB.
The alum. work threw me off the other day, couldn't tell if it was a HI-TECH or a Contemporary. Can tell you one thing though, you will miss the cobra. Good luck with the sales, and have a safe one on the track.
