Has Anyone Used www.escrow.com Lately?
Hi,
I've read some past posts (2004) that said this company was a viable alternative for handling car purchase transactions that involve buyers and sellers in very different locations. This company appears to be the only escrow service recommended by eBay. Thank you. |
I have not ever used it for buying or selling a vehicle, do not know anyone who has either. Off on a tangent (just a little one), if you are buying on Ebay, you need to check out the following url:

I have, four times. Works great. DC

Duane, how did it work? What is the process? Buyer sends money, seller ships car, escrow company releases money to seller? What event triggers the release of funds? Is that negotiable or is when the car arrives at the buyer's door? Did you use it as both buyer and seller? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

RK,
In my case it's been over a year since I used them last, but a friend just used them again too. I wrote specific "terms" and presented them to the seller or purchaser; used it both ways. IF we agreed on the terms, they were written in the escrow. Funds and cars were not released until both parties agreed. If in the case the person receiving the car does not agree once it arrives in person, it could be kept on the shipping truck and sent right back and both parties split the shipping, to send it back. With plenty of details, photos, and even an onsite inspection by an inspection service before the deal goes to escrow, it all works out fine. The main thing is to make sure both parties agree to all the terms/inspections/details IN WRITING, with signatures, BEFORE you open escrow. Escrow.com can fill you in on any other approaches they might have as well. Good Luck. :) |
