Just a couple of clues, maybe??

If this is legit and the sender reads this I apologize.......

They seem to have a little better grasp of the English language than most scammers but I'd still be suspicious. Like Roscoe said "don't take anything but cash".

Looking at the response, the Nigerian scams always have some things in common. Cashiers check payment (fake), syntax always has some flaws (waiting to hear from you soonest) , yahoo.mail email account (disposable and hard to trace).
Just another angle on the same old scams. IMHO

BTW, just the other day I got one of the Nigerian scam letters in the mail. Getting one in email is one thing, but by USPS is pretty surprising.

Scam. What they do is try to get all of the real information on what you are selling, then they will copy your ad, list it somewhere else with all of the real information, and then scam someone else. I have seen this happen on several occasions. Most recently there was an ad on cars.com that showed a Porsche Cayman for sale in Chicago. The VIN was legit, the location was legit, but then the "owner" replies to your inquiry with some "I have just been transferred out of the country" crap and tries to get a money order deposit from you. I have also known several reputable car dealers who have had their ebay account hi-jacked! Bottom line: make all transactions in person!

Exactly like spindle said. You can pretty much disregard anything that asks what you lowest price is. Especially if you have a price listed.

I went through this a coupel years ago with a toyota supra. Everything was completely legit! Vin ran on carfax came back with the owner exactly where he said. I had the cash in hand and still felt something was up. So I asked him to send me a copy of the registration! It looked perfect till I looked closer. He had photoshoped the vin in to make it right, however he missed the part where it said the car was green and the car he was selling was black! haha I called him out and he never replied.. go figure! The next step is that they want you to deposit the cash into an escrow account that they have setup, this gives you assurance that there is a 3rd party involved and that you are safe... YOU ARE NOT!!! They will give you a link to the escrow service which looks legit but in fact when you send the cash, it goes straight to them and you WILL NOT get it back!

Hey Earl,

Tell ya what - I got this bridge I'll swap ya for the trailer. It's right here in St Augustine, you may come over and inspect it any time you like. They're working on it right now, but in a couple of years it'll be worth a lot more than it is now.

And if you believe that, well, I'll just sell it to you outright

Tom

PS: Why don't you list it on the local site too, eh?

Earl,
Hey, if your going to fall for that why don't you give the trailer to one of your friends. You will get the same for it.

Nothing
