I had the same roll bar, it was easy to remove!

That looks like an FIA style like the 2000 series had.

Anybody ?????

Hi,
Is anyone by chance familiar with this car ? I live in Connecticut and could possibily be very interested, but before going to far I thought I'd check here and see if there was any information available on this particular car. If it is in fact a Contemporary wouldn't it have a CCX number ? I will write the seller and ask this also, but I wanted to get my information correct from a Contemporary owner if possible. Thanks.

Bill

Seller says the car is titled as a "1988 Cobra."

Attention: somedayaurora, maybe this is the car for you...

Often after a build a state may not use the CCX# from the manufacturer. Many states will re-issue a new VIN. Very standard practice as the actual CCX# is stamped on the frame.

Looks like a clean car...

I saw that car when it was still here in PA (that is a late state issued PA VIN (I question the "1988" vintage listed though as the state issued VIN kit cars do not have a year designated on their titles), I have one on my ERA as well), nice car, was a home built "pallet car" from Contemporary........Gauge chrome bezels were a little funny (not standard Smith style, but deeper like a Triumph TR6), and the rollbar was patterned off an early CSX series car that was raced locally (Pittsburgh area) back in the 60's....Other than that, a nice looking car.

FUNFER2 02-22-2010 10:52 AM

Very nice car.

Question- does the down leg on these roll bars hamper comfort ?
You certainly couldn't have @ex in it.

racco 02-22-2010 08:27 PM

That roll bar does hamper shifting.

Danr55 02-23-2010 02:23 PM

The early CSX cars had that type of roll bar and it would hamper comfort if you are in the passenger side. I don't know about shifting. You'd have to really wing it to bump that bar it looks like.

Yup, single Holley 750...dual feed.

Almost looks like Alcapulco Blue, the color of my first Cobra replica!
