steering column gap? look right?
1 Attachment(s)
it looks a little strange, like there should not be a gap between the signal turn switch, and the column shaft. dont have another ccx to compare it to. i've included a pic. if i pull the wheel, it clicks, or gives just a very slight amount. thoughts?
|
no, the gap is too big. Hub looks odd
|
how do i go about fixing the gap?
thanks. |
Undo the steering tube clamps and slide it back toward you a little.
|
thx. does that look like the right hub? am i sliding the steering tube back? or the turn signal assembly?
|
That's a loooong hub. That helps get the wheel in your lap and clear your knees more. Easily changed if you don't like. Get the directional switch down on the boss first and then move the steering tube up so it's just clearing.
|
thanks for the reply-i will keep the hub for now...any chance you could give me the instructions again--for the cobra challenged? aside from the normal wrenching, my skill level is at elementary level...
thanks!!! w. |
ps--i wonder if this was originally done so the previous owner had more knee room?
|
That's what it looks like to me for more legroom. There is a clamp around the tube top and bottom, if you loosen them you will be able to move the tube to position.
You want the CCX assembly manual? Give me an e-mail address to send it to. |
thanks, but you already sent it, i've been going over the pdf, trying to figure it out. i have some time tomorrow, i'll just start tinkering with it and learn along the way.
